What does the Zyrtec label say for babies and toddlers under 2?

For the US Children’s Zyrtec Allergy syrup shown here, children under 2 need a doctor’s guidance. Searching by a baby’s month of age does not create a separate labeled amount. This page explains the bottle’s boundary; it does not supply an infant prescription.

Match the product

Select a package to see its printed strength. Packaging can change; check your own label.

Six or seven months, one year, fifteen or eighteen months

A 6-month-old, 7-month-old, 10-month-old, 12-month-old, 15-month-old or 18-month-old is still under 2 years. The same under-2 instruction applies to this OTC syrup. It is not a month-by-month dosing schedule.

Why another cetirizine chart may look different

Check which product, country and clinical context the other chart describes. A clinician’s instructions and this specific OTC package are different sources of guidance. Do not copy a number from another chart or use the 2-year-old row early. If cetirizine has been prescribed, ask the prescriber or pharmacist to confirm the exact concentration, amount, frequency and duration.

Bring the exact bottle to the conversation

This page shows the 1 mg/mL syrup, also labeled 5 mg/5 mL. Chewables and Dissolve Tabs have their own labels. Have the package and measuring device available; a brand name or weight alone does not resolve which directions apply.
